Buddy is the head of the Koosman family, they are friends/rivals of the Seavers. Buddy spanks Kris after he gets a call from the Seavers claiming Kris was passing around a number to a sex talk line at school. He brings his son over to the Seavers so Kris can apologise to them - for something he didn't do. After the apology the Seavers explain that Ben was really to blame.
