Trudy is Ben's babysitter. When Jason and Maggie forget to call her to say she won't be needed she turns up at the Seavers and won't let Jason take her back home because her parents aren't there and she isn't allowed to be home alone. So Trudy stays and watches TV with the Seavers, and gets paid for it.
My Brother, Myself[]
Ben hits puberty and when he gets advice from Mike he hits on Trudy. When her older sister Stacy comes to pick her up, she meets Mike and ends up staying. Trudy is not interested in Ben until he mentions he's been to a taping of The Cosby Show. Stacy finds out Mike lied about being in college and leaves taking Trudy with her.
